Research Interests: Biomechanics, Insect Physiology, and Biomimetic Design

My research interests are in the area of physical biology, or biomechanics: the application of physical principles in the study of biological processes. Physical laws determine to a large extent where and how organisms can eat, move, and sense their environment. I am particularly interested in insect sensory biology and bioinspired design. I am also interested in innovative and effective teaching methods.
